The Nikon DX format lenses are designed specifically to be used with digital SLR cameras. Every Nikon DX lens is crafted of the highest quality materials and are packed full of the latest technologies and features to make your life as a photographer as simple as possible. Because Nikon DX lenses are designed with digital photography in mind there are a wide variety of DX lenses available to choose from, from the 10.5mm f/2.8G fisheye lens (the smallest of the DX lenses) through to the mighty 55-200mm f/4-5.6G for all of your telephoto and zoom needs. The Nikon DX range has an excellent reputation amongst photographers and when you examine their specifications it is easy to understand why; they are full of technological innovations designed to make shooting the perfect image as hassle free as can be.

Every new Nikon lens builds on lessons learned with previous designs so what you see as the "current crop" of Nikon DX lenses is in fact the product of many years of evolution of a design. Since all of the products in the DX range are designed to work with digital SLR cameras they all feature a 1/3 smaller diagonal size compared to other lenses that results in a 1/3 narrower angle of view than you would see via a traditional 135mm film lens. This has the effect of increasing the focal length by a half on a 135mm film camera, but of course these lenses are not designed for wet film and to get the best results use them on digital cameras and you will be astonished at the incredible quality of the images you are taking, even when paired with non Nikon cameras.
